SWAN WIFE T-SHIRT

As a young man, Aengus began to be visited in his dreams by a beautiful, compelling, woman. After one year of these nightly encounters, Aengus was in love. He tried for a year to find her, but could not.

He enlisted his parents to assist him in his quest. After another year of searching, his father's friend located the dreamy maiden. Her name was Caer Ibormeith.

Aengus, god of love and poetry, travelled to retrieve Caer Ibormeith, goddess of dreams and prophecy. He found her bound in chains with 149 other women on the Island at Dragon's Mouth Lake. All the captives were to be transformed into swans.

Aengus struck a deal with the captors: if he were able to recognize his Caer among the many swans, he could marry her.

Once the women were transformed into swans, Aengus also turned himself into a swan. He called out to his beloved. They found each other and flew away together. As they flew they sang a song so beautiful it caused the captors to fall asleep for three days, allowing the swan women to flee.
